1. How does my agency/county/city get started?

Contact Rich Steckler (info at right).

2. How much is it?

This service can be used free of charge by Idaho state agencies, counties, cities and other government entities.

In partnership with Idaho Information Consortium, the State of Idaho established Access Idaho to develop, support, maintain, and enhance the State's official web portal, Idaho.gov, under a self-sustaining model using no tax dollars and appropriated funds.

3. What is Portal pricing?

Access Idaho's sole business is providing outsourced services for Idaho's public entities, such as state, county and city government. The online price of items and services purchased through Idaho.gov, the State's official web portal, includes funds used to develop, maintain, enhance and expand the offerings of the State's portal.

4. When are my funds deposited?

Expect funds to arrive in your account 3 business days after the transaction date.

5. What payment types can PayPort Online accept?

PayPort can accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Electronic checks are also an option. Please discuss eChecks with us if you are interested.

6. Do debit card transactions require a PIN?

A PIN is not needed to run a debit card. We run debit cards just like credit cards.

7. What do I do if a customer called saying funds were taken out of their account even though we canceled the order?

When a customer uses a debit card, the funds are authorized and the bank will put a hold on those funds immediately. When an order is canceled, it can take up to two weeks (depending on the bank) to release the hold (authorization) on those funds. If the customer needs the funds available in their account right away, just contact Rich Steckler or Leslie Vitagliano at Access Idaho, and they can release the authorization.

8. How secure is PayPort?

PayPort and its systems comply fully with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. As a subsidiary of a publicly traded company, Access Idaho is Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliant for controls, security and business continuity issues. We contract with an independent security company to review our security processes and procedures regularly for physical, technical, and policy security.

9. How fast and reliable is PayPort?

Second to security, our primary goals are speed and stability. Stateless components are separated and isolated into a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) , with post-authorization processing reserved as a nightly batch job. Because of this, we make a service guarantee of 5 seconds or less per order and 99.99% uptime during business hours. PayPort runs on a load-balanced server cluster located in a “Type IV” facility, with a mirrored “hot site” in a different state.

10. How long does it take to set up PayPort Online?

Catalog creation is quick and easy. However, it takes 1 or 2 weeks for Access Idaho to configure your "skin" to work with PayPort Online's interface. In the interim, we can substitute with a generic skin for testing.

11. I already use PayPort Over-the-Counter. Can I use the same catalog?

Yes. You may need to add a few data entry fields to your catalog for PayPort Online, but you can utilize the catalog you already have.

12. Who is currently using PayPort Online?

Participating Idaho counties, agencies, and cities as of March 2012 include:
